This is a pioneering initiative throughout Spain and endorsed by the General Directorate of Traffic
ATESA is one of the leading companies in the sector of car rental, has succeeded reduce accidents of its fleet by 43'63% thanks to a road safety campaign that the company has undertaken for the fourth consecutive year. The initiative, a pioneer in Spain and backed by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), has reached two million users in the period from June to October 2006.
The results of the campaign were presented last February 1, at the booth of the ATESA in FITUR, the closing ceremony was graced by the presence and participation of Pere Navarro, Director General of Traffic. In addition, it presented prizes drawn among all participants in the campaign, among them a cruise around the Mediterranean for a week and 5 weeks of the Sea, for children who participated in an essay on travel, environment and security, Ecomar with the Foundation at the Port of Santamaria.
The objective of this road safety campaign is bearing on the main causes of accidents of rental vehicles: a lack of knowledge of the characteristics of the car, relaxation in the conduct by not try to own a vehicle, distractions and speeding.
